Everyone’s been there and it’s scary! But when the leads dry up, there’s a LOT you can do to get things moving again. Here are my 6 best tips for how to get more leads for your business!
How to get more leads on your website (increase website inquiries and spot deficiencies!)
1. Examine your top of funnel & do more of what works
Is your top of funnel (the first touch point when a potential customer becomes aware of your brand) working?
Evaluate each one of your marketing initiatives (social media, blogging, ads, etc). Which ones need a refresh? Which ones have historically brought in the most leads? Can you reallocate time, money, or effort into the initiatives that are higher value for your business, and stop spending it on things that aren’t working?
2. Get in the numbers to see where you’re losing people
Where in the customer journey are you seeing people fall off? Identify the problem points so you can improve them!
✨ If you aren’t getting website traffic, your marketing or SEO could be the issue.
✨ If you have good website traffic, but no conversions or inquiries, then your marketing isn’t the problem- the website is. Is it slow to load, poorly designed, or lacking compelling CTAs or the right messaging?
✨ If you’re getting website traffic and inquiries, but not closing clients, then maybe you need to take a look at your service offerings. Maybe your prices aren’t competitive with the market. Maybe your sales process after the inquiry needs improvement. Look at it from every angle, welcome feedback, and explore out of the box solutions!
3. Freshen up your portfolio
Add newer, more impressive recent work to your portfolio- are you really showcasing your best, or can it be improved? After you improve it, be sure to share it- hard post, create reels, and post stories with call to actions to check out your recent work!
4. Add more and better social proof with testimonials
Add new testimonials and DOUBLE the amount you had before! These are huge trust signs, and you should share them on your website, in your socials, emails, and more. If you don’t have any, contact your clients and ask for them! Dig through your emails or text for messages from your clients that show what it’s really like working with you and the success you’ve helped them achieve.
5. Make sure it’s EASY for people to do business with you.
Is it clear exactly what customers need to do to start their journey with you? An unclear or complicated pathway can deter people who would otherwise be interested in your product or services.
6. Ask for referrals!
92% of consumers trust referrals from people they know vs. from marketing and advertising, and customers referred by other customers have a 37% higher retention rate. Plus, asking for referrals from past clients or friends is FREE, while spending on ads or hiring a marketing agency can get expensive.
It can be challenging, but everyone has a slow season and you WILL get through it if you take action! It’s important to remember that a winning strategy for how to get more leads for your business usually means taking a multichannel approach, so try all or a combination of these strategies!
